aidanhallbass
I've just picked up a used G&L L2500 sunburst from guitar guitar for £350.. Delivery tomorrow , can't wait to try it out! I have a usa jazz and usa precision but I've been looking at an affordable active 5'er so I thought for the money I'll give it a go! I've read good reviews on these, so all being well it should be an excellent gigging bass
discreet
Nicely done! We'll need to see pics, of course.
cybertect
Was that the one at their Glasgow store (sunburst finish IIRC)? I had my eye on it and was thinking of getting them to pop it down to their Epsom shop to try out, but I rather fancy a Blueburst L-2500. Edit: interested to see how you get on with it. aidanhallbass
Yes! I put a deposit on it last week to secure it, just paid for it today. They do have that rather nice M2000 in blueburst for sale. Edited February 10, 2015 by aidanhallbass

[/quote] It's a fiver I would be after and having tried out an L-2000, I really enjoyed the tone. Anyhow, I have to figure out how to pay for it yet Glad that one at GG is going to a good home. Dan Dare
Great basses. Sold my L2000 Trib - couldn't get on with the wide P style neck (long time - 40years - J bass user with small hands), but versatile, great range of tones and nicely made. BassBunny
The swiss army knife of basses. I've had 3 of them and ended up with what IMHO is "the" best combination. Blueburst with a maple fingerboard. Under orders to get rid of all basses over 8lbs so it went. Really miss it. You can get just about any sound you want out of it. Not wishing to appear pedantic but it Isn't actually active. The tone controls are passive, so just bass & treble "cut", with a line driver amp in series with the output. dub_junkie
I'm on my third Tribute L-2000 which is blueburst/maple.Lovely thing it is too! I've moved away from five strings but if I ever decide (or have a requirement) to start playing one again, and I couldn't afford a used Stingray 5,I would likely go for a Tribute L-2500.
