My screensaver basses

I have these on my computer at work as a screen saver.

Only one is actually mine, but I'd like to own any of them.

Some very fine and sexy basses.

The Pagelli is one of my all-time favourite basses for looks. I'd love to have a chance to actually play one!

You have a great eye for a bass, mate. Thse are all exceptionally beautiful instruments to look at. I always thought that the Ken Smith basses were the ugliest, uncoolest basses in the world and, whatever their sonic strengths, should be avoided at all costs. But these babies; I'd have any one of them in a flash...

It's fabulous. Where can I find out more? Is it a total one off? Is it a partially lined fretless? Where are the pickups? Where are the controls?

Have a good look around the whole [url="http://www.pagelli.com/e/welcome_fr.html"]Pagelli site[/url] there's some amazing instruments on there.

This very bass caught my when I was looking for a luthier for my fretless and so I fired off an email...

... about a year later I got reply directing me to the Marleaux-Pagelli site about a week before it went off line.

That particular bass is a one-off, but is derived from the Pagelli Golden Bass. He's made a couple of variants and then there was a partnership with Marleaux where they produced a range of instruments on the Golden Bass design. Unfortunately that now appears to have come to an end. There were two Marleaux-Pagellis in the Marleaux on-line shop until the site was redesigned and they were being offered at a discount price of €6000...
