Ashdown RM420 Head for bass and an 8 string guitar?

Hi all,

I've recently got a bass and been looking around for a good amp, kinda narrowed it down to this 420 head, sounds brilliant and has everything I'm looking for in a head, seems versatile,

I know it will sound great with my bass and I'm wondering if it would be good / ok to use with an 8 string Jackson DKA8 guitar too? General word seems to be its cool to plug a guitar into a bass amp, think Fender Bassman, so would a bass amp setup be able to handle the lower frequencies the low B and low F# are pushing out? As there seems to be a lot of eq control with the 420 head to help with the mids and treble

And what cab would people recommend? A 2x12?
