topheteatwo
Myself and the band are back to writing and I'm looking to branch out my playing a little more. Since I'm always singing while playing bass, I've always given myself plenty of breathing space to do both on stage but I'm really wanting to push myself into my interesting bass playing with the same amount of singing (it'll be tough) I've always been influenced by bassists like Nick Theineman of Young Widows, David W.m Sims of Jesus Lizard, Brian Cook of....Brian Cook, Nate Newton of Converge and NomeansNo but could never really figure out their scales, the style of playing I have down, just those pesky scales. Can anyone give me some scales that would be good to stick into a song, I'm playing in D standard, it's been about 4 years since I last looked at scales.
