pierreganseman
Just a quick "review" , I'd highly recommend anyone who can go to a UK gig to just go. I was not particularly fan of all the music but the musicianship displayed and showed is of a stupid high level. Pino and Chris Dave as a rythm section are animals without a doubt. Pino plays his signature P + a P with something that could be T-bird pickups. And..... he slaps and what looks like double thumping... so yeah he can do it. Despite his past drugs / alcohol Problem D'angelo is still a hell of a singer. so yeah people.... go! me

Old Man Riva
I'm going to the Saturday Hammersmith Odeon gig - can't wait. Can't wait to see the band, and particularly looking forward to seeing Isaiah Sharkey on guitar.

Old Man Riva
The two guitarists are Jesse Johnson and Isaiah Sharkey. Johnson (ex The Time and Prince) - older guy, wears shades, plays a sparkle-finish guitar (has the upside down headstock in a nod to Hendrix); Sharkey is the younger guy who generally plays a cherry 335-type guitar with D'Angelo and takes on more of the funky/rhythm parts.. Isaiah Sharkey... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbnbJqgNGyQ

Old Man Riva
Went last night and was blown away. The band are something else - absolutely top drawer - and to top it all off they've reworked Brown Sugar so it now sits over Four Play by Fred Wesley and the Horny Horns. This clip from the Friday night gig... Be warned, it contains plenty of Pino!
