Bassist on the Run Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 (edited) Hi guys I'm in the process of rig hunting I seen one of these amps but I don't know a thing about them. Is there anyone here who had one or had one. Any info would be greatly appreciated Edited February 15, 2015 by bramleyapple Quote
Truckstop Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Had one for six years and I wish I'd never moved it on. Immensely versatile and the boost knob gives a nice touch of grit. Switchable pre/post EQ DI is surprisingly useful and good quality. Never had any issues with it despite frequent touring and rehearsals (I kept it in a rack case) and it's a manageable weight. If you look for cheaper heads they'll likely get heavier and heavier. Seeing how cheap they are these days it'd be silly not to own one. They're obviously less powerful than the 700,1001 and the 2001 but there's more than enough to cope with a loudish band and small/medium venues through a decent cab. I moved it on because I got caught up in the whole light-weight amp head thing when, looking back, I was wanting for nothing! Quote
Bassist on the Run Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 Well that's made my mine up Thanks for your time Regards Mark Quote
sifi2112 Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 I've had older version & 700 & loved them both ... If the price looks right do it ! If you're into rock (metal) crank it & discover the (in)famous 'GK growl' .. brilliant ! Quote
dadofsix Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 i used a GK 400rb III for years. I even had a old GK400rb for a backup. I'm now using a GK 1001rb II for the larger shows. I've found that my GK amps have given me everything I want -- and more!! <><Peace Quote
