Midi files

Hi all, I am looking at playing midi files in my Pro Tools Express so I can jam along with my bass and practice recording audio.

Where can I find midi songs that I can assign a midi intrument too so I can choose drum type and guitar type etc ?

I have seen some for sale on evil bay but not sure of the quality.

I've got loads, mainly soul/motown/party band sort of stuff. We used to offer the function band as a 3 piece and used the midi files for drums/guitar/brass.
Got vitually all of them free on t'internet.
Use Vanbasco, a midi search engine, to try and get what you want.
There are plenty of free midi editing tools available that allow you to change instrument types, key, speed etc.

I just use Sweet MiDi player on a Laptop at home. When playing live, I wouldn't have a clue, that is the keyboard players domain.
Sweet MiDi player does everything I need regarding the ability to do whatever I want with the 16 individual tracks.

Any decent DAW will be able to open MIDI files and assign them a track and instrument based on the their MIDI channel and program change numbers.
