1970 Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Hi, Anyone use an old rack poweramp? How do you connect it to a cab when the outputs are like this: What to do need to plug that into, say, a cab with speakon inputs? Quote
obbm Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Get a lead with 4mm Banana plugs on one end and a Speakon on the other. Quote
1970 Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 ah cool - 4mm banana, that's the ticket. Quote
VTypeV4 Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 A bunch of old Crown Power Tech amps.. Are they yours, 1970? Quote
1970 Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 no just investigating the possibility of a cool rack setup for reliability. Preamp selection is quite difficult. Quote
taunton-hobbit Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Look at something on the left field, like a rackmount 'disco' mixer - they will feed straight into a bunch of power amps and the lift/cut tone variants are many & varied (cheap, too) Quote
1970 Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 think it's just a phase - been looking at rigs of bob weston and buzz osborne, who both use rack poweramps with their pre of choice. Quote
Musky Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 If you do go for the amp with the separate speaker terminals I guess you know where to get them, seeing as he's posted a picture of just the thing. Quote
