Oggy
Hi Basschaterers I've been having a bit of a clear out and found my old 'Shure Unidyne - Mark 3 - Dynamic Mic', it's a Model 545. I've tried it out but I'm getting no-output . Does anyone know where I could get it repaired? I bought it new sometime in the mid 70's, I'd just like to get it up and running for the sake of it really. I live in Hertfordshire (St Albans / Watford area). Any ideas? 51m0n
Great Mic on snare or guitar cabs in place of a 57! No idea where you can get it repaired though Sorry.
Oggy
Thanks 51m0n 'Back in the day' I used it for vocals - sounded ok then. I'd like to get it going to see what it sounds like against my SM58 and a TC-Helicon that I've just bought from another Basschater. Anyone know where I can get it sorted? brensabre79
You can try contacting Shure direct. They have helped me out in the past with 57s. Obviously it'll be out of warranty etc. but they will be more likely to have replacement parts to hand. Oggy
Well, I took the advice that brensare79 gave and got result. The mic is currently with Shure for repair, really nice guys to deal with. I've been told that "if it's only a bit of re-wiring" they will only charge me for postage. I'll let you know how it turns out. Oggy

Dad3353
Excellent; well done them (and yourself, for going the whole hog...). Now then, does it live up to its memories..? How does it compare to the new acquisitions..? The world is waiting with bated breath... Edited March 13, 2015 by Dad3353
