ButcherBass95
I have an idea of some how putting playing cards on my bass. I have stander playing cards and and just wondering what glue or any other adhesive would be best? One that doesn't ruin the body or the neck. Any other advice would be nice thank you. Grangur
When you say "that doesn't ruin the body or the neck." Do you mean you want to be able to peel the cards off again and the paint finish still be as good as new? IMHO I would have thought the best end result would be got by sticking the cards on the body and giving the whole thing a really thick coat of lacquer, but this would wreck the original paint finish.
Bradwell
What sort of finish is on your bass?
IMHO I would have thought the best end result would be got by sticking the cards on the body and giving the whole thing a really thick coat of lacquer, but this would wreck the original paint finish.
Check that the laquer you are using is compatible with the existing finish and accept that if you don't like the results a full sand-down + respray is in order. ButcherBass95
The finish is just a stander finish. the bass is just obe of those brands that you've never heard of (Nevada)so I'm not too bothered if the finish get ruin but would prefer to keep intact if possible. HowieBass
Double sided sticky tape (carpet tape is the real heavy duty type) might be your best bet. I'd seal/varnish the cards first then stick them to the body.
Dad3353
I think I'd recommend waterslide transfers (decals...) to 'real' playing cards for applying to an instrument. Something like this, from Ebay..? Playing Card Decals ... I'm sure there's others. Sticking 'real' cards would be a problem, because of the thickness, and also the curved surfaces. Difficult to get a good finish, I'd have thought. Good luck with the project; photos of the result, please..?
ButcherBass95
I'll photograph the end result. I thought about buy playing card stickers but I couldn't find individual ones.
xilddx
How are you going to bend the cards around the body edges? You are putting them on the back of the neck?!
