lurksalot Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 I won't listen yet Dad, especially as it appears to be a similar route mine has taken I am sure it is quality as usual , after all, you took your time with this one Quote
Bilbo Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Mine's gone awry. It started with the image in mind but ended up somewhere else entirely. No time to start over so it will be submitted but the only Inspired by' bit is the fact that it started there!! Quote
ras52 Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015
Mine's gone awry. It started with the image in mind but ended up somewhere else entirely. No time to start over so it will be submitted but the only Inspired by' bit is the fact that it started there!!
Sounds good to me... as discussed in last month's thread, the pic is the starting point and after that there are no rules! I've started something which is wending its own way in the background... as it's not at the top of this month's to-do list, it may be abandoned rather than finished. It remains to be seen (or heard) whether it's fit for public consumption on deadline day. Quote
Skol303 Posted March 8, 2015 Author Posted March 8, 2015 I'm going to pushed for time this month (again!)... and for the next couple of months whilst working on various projects. But no complaints I think I'm going to try writing something using Maschine, as I did last month, rather than Reason. I'm still very much learning the ropes with it as a DAW, but it has potential to be a really quick 'sketchpad' once I'm more familiar with it. Persistence and practice, etc. Great picture anyway. I love the colours. Quote
lurksalot Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Mine has taken a left field approach but awaits a few more samples , mainly vocals , but Lurksalittle is being a touch backward in coming forward on this one Quote
Leonard Smalls Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I've recorded my "singing"... And this month it's not free-form, but does have a wah bass solo! Quote

Actually, he WILL, having something to say about this. Looking forward to the review. Quote
Leonard Smalls Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Don't worry - the song was also inspired by The Grateful Dead so he'll be happy! Though there is hints of modern stuff like Bowie and the great M... Quote

CamdenRob Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Been working on something for this after a prolonged absence from the composition competition, hopefully I'll get time to finish it off. The image makes me think of 90s American sitcoms so I've been working on a cheesy blues theme tune type number. Quote

Keen to hear it
Indeed it is... although the wal is currently my only bass so there wasn't really an option Recorded live guitar and bass tracks, but it sounds really naff without real drums, probably due to my total lack of knowledge when it comes to drums... anyone want to record some real drums for me to save the day?
