KevB Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015
I had to learn a set of songs once, included was a Rolling Stones number, though I've no idea which one.
Most likely culprit would be Jumpin Jack Flash. It's written in B but due to pitching issues sounds somewhere between Bb and B but not quite either. Some bands go the whole hog and just play it in A which always sounds too low to suit the song to me. Quote
cytania Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 (edited) 'Have You Seen Your Mother Baby' and 'Mother's Little Helper' were recorded on a slightly fast tape machine, so when mastered came out slightly slow. Only the recent CD reissues corrected this. There now seems to be an absurd claim in some corners of the Internet that all the original stones CDs are wrong speed 😑 Edited March 5, 2015 by cytania Quote
