I haven't noticed these HB Gretsch-alikes before. I don't know how new they are, but they only have one rating each for the white and orange ones so far.

I'm not going to be buying one even if a 'deko' turns up for £50-60 or so :) as I have no plans to expand my guitar collection. But they look pretty nice IMHO. Even the headstock, often the ugliest part of HB instruments IMHO, looks nice. (I don't like the 'missing the central fold open book' headstock their LP copies have).

Any comments?

EDIT: The wood visible through the cutaways looks rather odd. Like it's particle board or there's cardboard inside there. What's that look like to other people.

I was thinking of getting one, but while I was thinking they stopped having them as part of their product range. Same as happened with their rick 12-a-likes (can still get the 6 string version though).

Will have to get the slightly pricier manhattan instead then.
Though it will have gone by the time I get the scratch together no doubt.

I would say that there is a good chance that the Gretsch-a-likes will return, given that they've sold out.

A poster on the Harley Benton forum bought one. His review was mixed.

Were you thinking of getting the Manhattan standard or the Manhattan wizard?

There is some duplication between the HB forum and here on basschat. You may recognise quite a lot on there :)

It was one of the most in-depth reviews I've read. First time I've ever seen inside photos taken by a spy cam.
