solo4652
I have a "bassist available" ad out. Just got this reply; "Interested in joining a psychedelic rock band? do you have hair? do you wear baggy or skinny jeans? Do you have good equipment? Are you good? Reliable?" Roland Rock
Haha, how strange. I'm guessing that Duncan Goodhew in his budgie smugglers need not apply, regardless of how good or reliable he is.
solo4652
Yes - difficult to know how to respond, really, apart from "No, Yes, No, Yes, Yes, Yes."
Raymondo
Yes - difficult to know how to respond, really, apart from "No, Yes, No, Yes, Yes, Yes."
Then you are clearly not suitable for the gig.

steve-bbb
are you good? is this like helping old ladies across the road type good?
JTUK
But.... that is what THEY want and see as relevant. Getting a bass player satisfying that criteria is only going to be a problem for them.... and if they get one, good luck. If they don't, they'll have to decide on plan B
Roland Rock
Duncan Goodhew is good at swimming.

JapanAxe
Nothing much wrong with that message except that the order of importance is not clear. In question 3 there is the implication that baggy jeans are preferable to skinny. Not sure where that leaves the 'comfort fits' that I favour! Len_derby
In its way it's a good filter. If you don't get the intended 'humour' or don't like the ambiguity it's probably not the project for you. Me, I have one skinny leg and one baggy leg. Flexibility is the key.

chris_b
... and they don't mention bells. If you have your own, you're in.

seashell
Baggy OR skinny jeans? That gives you a lot of scope. And hair shouldn't be required in a Psychedelic band, as long as you wear a hat.
Beer of the Bass
IMO the optimal trousers for psychedelic rock are neither skinny nor baggy, they're close-fitting at the top with a pronounced flare to the legs. So I reckon that's a trick question.
My Answers to that would be NO Yes, but I've just cut it Neither You decide (mark bass, cheap Yamaha , and various Fenders) You decide, I can emulate most pops songs pretty well Subject to natural disasters, YES
