sbrag
with a view to reducing the amount of stuff I have, I'm thinking of selling my practice amp and using an old peavey active stage monitor (which will do its proper job as a monitor at gigs) for occasional lower volume practice. other than it not being the greatest tone is there any reason not to do this ie will it knacker the monitor? cheers
sbrag
oh and I have a hartke bass attack to run though to help the tone.
JapanAxe
I wouldn't have though the monitor will be at risk, considering it is intended to be full-range and will only be used at low volume.
sbrag
Cheers that's what I was thinking but thought I'd better check.
hamfist
Yup, so long as you don't push it too far, it will do the job fine.
VTypeV4
As suggested above, as long as there's no nasty noises you'll be just fine.. Don't expect to rule the world SPL wise or much response below 100Hz but I found quite an acceptable sound using one of these with a zoom 506. JTUK
Big compromise in tone expected but if it serves a purpose, you aren't going to blow it up at quiet volumes unless it is on its way out anyway. It will need a 12" in there.
