deksawyer Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I've stuck a post in the leftie section, but I might get a better response here. There's a Jaydee Stingray clone for sale at Bass Direct and Mark has informed me it was made sometime in the 90's and I was wondering if it was a one off, or whether John made a few of these. He's unsure what pickup/electrics are in it... Any Jaydee experts able to shed some light? thanks D. Quote

Almost makes me wish I played lefty. Quote
Reversebird Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Not really sure I see the point of this bass from Jaydee. It's almost an exact clone of an EBMM Stingray and it's in the ball park price wise as a secondhand Stingray. They appear to have added nothing unique to the Stringray formula. I know which one I would have....defo the EBMM. When you consider the innovations, style and sheer beauty of their "Mark King" and "Supernatural model" basses this is a poor show from Jaydee, I can only assume it was a one off for a customer. yorick Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 It was probably easier, and maybe cheaper to get Jaydee to build this bass at the time than to get a new lefty Musicman. I got him to make me a Warwick Thumb clone, to my specs for about half of what a lefty Warwick NT Thumb would have cost me. Quote
