markbass cmd 121p settings

Just got one of these this morning and had a fiddle with it. It does seem a bit distorted at low levels, but it hasnt come with a user guide and a google search doesnt come up with much.
Anyone got any tips on how to a get a great sound out of this?

Distorted? Mine certainly isn't. Set all the controls at zero apart from the VLE and VPF - turn these fully anti-clockwise.

Set the master low, and bring the gain up until the blue light flashes, then back it off a bit. That's your starting point. Make minor adjustments from there. Are you using an active bass or any pedals?
