InTheory
Has anyone tried this pedal? Is there is any tone suck and how bad it is.
Sibob
The new one? The M85? I've not tried it yet (not in shops yet, in the next week or so perhaps). Any collab between two excellent pedal companies (MXR & Fuzzrocious) is probably not going to result in tone suck Plus it has a blend Si
InTheory
Yeah that's the one, ive read that the mxr pedals have massive tone suck, but that's always been in relation to it guitat pedal counter parts.
dudewheresmybass
Not had that experience with mxr products- I have a significant number of both their bass and guitar pedals
Sibob
Yeah that's the one, ive read that the mxr pedals have massive tone suck, but that's always been in relation to it guitat pedal counter parts.
Not read that either. Seems odd too, seeing as the vast majority of their pedals are True Bypass, meaning what you read must refer to the 'ON' sound.....which is essentially just not liking the tone of the pedal lol Si
1976fenderhead
I have 3 MXR bass pedals at the moment (octave, filter, compressor), zero tone suck. The 105q does suck tone though, but that's different...
tonyf
Ditto with all the above. Got an Envelope Filter and a Bass Octave on my board and they've been a revelation in terms of tone and quality. Love them.

Sibob
This is the Overdrive rather than the Distortion, but it seems to be fairly clearly stated as True Bypass: Some new MXR pedals may be buffered, like the Bass Preamp (much like the Darkglass B7K is buffered to allow for the DI out), but I imagine they're largely all standard True Bypass. Perhaps an email to them would help. There's probably a case for MXR to tidy up (standardise) the specs/features for each pedal on the site.
