ezbass Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 The Porcaro family have had much grief over the years. Quote

leschirons Posted March 15, 2015 Author Posted March 15, 2015 ALS I believe. It usually is, unfortunately fatal. Doesn't seem to be any details but I guess it's that. Only 59 years old. Terrible. Quote
Number6 Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 On his wikipedia page that he died in his sleep. ALS or Motor Neurone Disease in our terms. Terrible RIP Quote
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Shame . Similar condition to Jason Becker . We think we have things bad ;( Quote
blunderthumbs Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 :(Very sad. A member of one of the greatest bands I've ever seen. RIP Mike. Quote
bumnote Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 One of my good friends died of this several years ago. To see him go from an active man through to when he was in a wheelchair and could only move his head was awfull, The strain it puts on his family is enourmous, had to be fed like a chilld. Its a disgusting disease. Quote
Sean Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Sad, it seems to have been dragging on for ages and I read about the condition ages ago and thought at the time how horrible it was. Saw him playing with Toto once and was really impressive. RIP. Quote
ubit Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 (edited) It's very sad indeed but going in your sleep? That would do for me ! Edited March 16, 2015 by ubit Quote
7tenths Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Such a sad loss....only seems like yesterday that the equally talented Jeff Porcaro passed...I never could play those ghost notes on Rosanna...what a 'shuffle' Quote
spectoremg Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 (edited) In the car today with the better half and 'You're The One That I Want' from Grease came on. I've always loved the bass on that and looking up the soundtrack I see that among other bass players he's credited for the album. Edited May 4, 2015 by spectoremg Quote
