Hi.

My name is Luke, I'm currently living in Australia and I've been playing for about 15 years (currently 30 years old). My Dad was born in the UK and I've just gotten my British passport. From May onwards this year, I'll be coming over to the UK for an extended period of time. I've played in a few originals bands over the years, but I've mainly played in covers bands. Here is an old recording from my favourite covers band that I played in from about 7 years ago: https://myspace.com/mojonewcastle

I joined this forum to search for gear while I'm over there and to also find out more about the current climate in terms of live covers shows. In Australia, it's hard for covers bands as it's so spread out over here so you are pretty limited in terms of how many shows you can book. Is there many opportunities at the moment in terms of covers bands in the UK? Any areas I should check out or should I try to base myself around London? I intend on getting a 'normal' job as well, but would like to gig as much as possible as well. Thanks in advance to anyone that can give me some advice.

Cheers,

Luke.

Much here to inform, amuse and share. Can't help with the 'scene' question (I'm in France...), but others will be along with views and news soon enough, I'm sure.

Welcome to BC, what part of Australia are you from?

I can't help with the 'Cover Band' question but it might be worth starting a thread in General Discussion as I think more people will see it :)
