Fuzzbass2000 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 (edited) Danelectro Redburst Shortscale Bass '63 Now Sold Edited April 15, 2015 by Fuzzbass2000
greenmanhumming Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Ths is really cool. I love the cutout pickguard. Is this the hollow construction with "masonite" top and back like other danelectros? I'm very tempted, but I don't like the red color much... how does the tone compare to a longhorn? is it chinese or korean made? or something else?
Fuzzbass2000 Posted March 18, 2015 Author Posted March 18, 2015 (edited) I don't have a Longhorn so not able to compare - as far as I know the pickups are pretty much the same lipstick pickups they use on all the re-issues and the construction is the usual Danelectro hollow masonite back and front so I can't imagine that it sounds a lot different. I think they sound great and play great - i've a couple, but need to move this one on to make room for a Hofner shortscale. Pretty sure this is made in China (at work so can't check the label on the neck). Whilst they made long scalers in Black and Aqua Blue, if you're after a shortscale Dano '63, I think redburst is your only option. Really cool bass... gets compliments whenever I play one.
