72deluxe Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Hi I just noticed this on the BBC's website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-31912601 It looks interesting but odd to see Mark King on the roster, given that his playing is radically different to Jack Bruce's? Anyone else think that or is it just me? Quote
Conan Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) MK recorded a great version of "I feel free" on his Influences album a while back, and he has been a big Cream/Bruce fan for ever IIRC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoEC4j6VW44 Edited March 17, 2015 by Conan Quote
72deluxe Posted March 17, 2015 Author Posted March 17, 2015 I stand corrected! My lack of knowledge trips me up again. But an entirely different tone and style nonetheless :-) Quote
TheGreek Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Try "Badge" - so easy to "funkyify" (that must be a real word!!). Quote

TheGreek Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Tickets currently available from £37.50 - pretty reasonable I think.. http://www.roundhouse.org.uk/whats-on/2015/sunshine-of-your-love/?book=true Quote

I suppose he likes the chance to play something differently Quote
Bronner Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker were great together. I highly recommend seeing the fairly recent documentary on Ginger Baker. Quote
3below Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 What is the issue? Some musicians get together to celebrate Jack Bruce and his music. They may play in a totally different style. They raise money for a good cause. They are free agents and can do this in a libertarian society. Seems good to me. Quote
