tanuki
Depends on the year of manufacture, they were initially made in the US then they outsourced production after a few years, should say on the amp somewhere..
wayne58
Just to clarify, this VR head was made in Vietnam. There is a fair bit of controversy about US v Vietnamese quality issues. From what I can gather, and these opinions are mainly from US forums (not mine) some of the last US ones had quality control issues due to the fact that the staff knew they were about to be laid off. Also apparently some of the earlier Vietnamese ones had teething and quality problems . I have no evidence apart from what I have read on the net, so can only comment on MY Ampeg VR head. It sounds wonderful and has had no issues whatsoever, in fact I much prefer it to my old US made classic head. These VR heads are now around £1600 new plus £140ish for a flightcase.
