I was, luckily I managed to fix mine which had been Jaked, Jake being my little nephew who has the destructive capability of of a tropical typhoon.

I can say it does work with bass but you need to practice on using it. Is not a plug and go thing, you need to find the sweet spot for the bass/strings.

Otherwise the sound is lovely on my fretless.

Yes they wok fine with a bass. I bought it to try with my fretless after listening to some samples on here. I was thinking about getting a looper to use with it but life is very busy at the moment and I just not being able to make the time to do justice to it.
