willyf87
Does anyone know if the width of the neck pocket on a J&D jazz bass would fit a standard fender dimension neck? Edited March 20, 2015 by willyf87
hamfist
The J&D Jazz body neck heel slot has a 63,5mm width. However they are for traditional 20 fret necks. THe Dimension has a longer neck. So the neck might fit, but the body is not designed for that length of neck. I wouldn't do it. You would need to move the bridge towards the neck by about an inch and it would put all the pickup positions well out. Also the bass would be "body heavy" as the weight distribution would be more towards the bridge end.
willyf87
Thanks for the reply, when I wrote dimension I actually just meant the dimensions of the neck. My bad!! Forgot there was a fender dimension branded bass. So I'm guessing it would be fine with a normal fender jazz neck?
Rumple
It works the other way around so I don't see why not. I have a J&D neck on a Squier body.

hamfist
Yes, to clarify, the J&D body has standard Fender dimensions for it's neck heel slot. THe joys of communicating via text only !
