Come on. Stop this childish posting and go and play your bass.
Someone lock this thread.
why lock it?

I am having a look and don't like the thread (I don't care for Ricks, but Rick threads are sometimes amusing to watch ;)) but... why lock it? Don't like it? Don't read it.

Sorry, I am not saying this as a personal attack :) but I have seen recently a few comments on other threads along the same lines "lock the thread"... I say let people discuss whatever they please. If they are not interesting threads I'll move on, but let those who want to stay in them do so.

:)

^^^ Fair point. I guess it's a choice, some would prefer to lock the thread when they can see the topic is going nowhere healthy, others see where it goes freedom of speech etc. nothing bad seems to have happened so far....

I'm not incensed at all if people like Rickenbackers. I'm quoting myself, because there's a tendency for people like you to fabricate quotes here.
Ooh, good ad hominem attack - 'people like me' - our opinions don't matter as much as 'people like you'!

And there really isn't a secret BC fifth column, diligently beavering away to protect & promote that nice Mr Hall's business interests. It's all in your head, dear. :)

Although if you want to toddle along to ricksource you might find some!

We're losing our touch on BC. A few years ago, if some attention-seeking nutter newb had popped up here causing a fuss and rowing with people in a desperate attempt to punt a 20 year-old bee-in-the-bonnet grudge we'd have given him a slap and sent him on his way.

Nowadays we gather round and dab these peoples' temples with eau de cologne and sing Kumbayah and reassure them that 'It's OK, everybody's entitled to their opinion' because BC is where everybody's view matters.

Face facts: a 'Septic' poser who's not been here long enough to wipe his arse has managed to get us to take him remotely seriously for 7 whole pages. And I say that bowing to no man in my disdain for RIC Corporation

This is what 13 years of socialism gets you. An inability to know when someone's having you over. ;)

I hate hob nobs. Anyone who likes hob nobs is a muppet and you are being ripped off if you buy them. Their build quality is rubbish compared to a chocolate digestive.

Opinion passed off as fact. I thank you...

Or boredom. I was surprised. it was on page 2 in the morning, I went to reply after a day out and it was on 7. I guess noone is gigging today.

Mind you, mentioning Rics always gets the post count up.

Not quite but this isn't the forum to discuss that ;)

I do, as I rifle their prams and pushchairs looking for Rusks. Those things are too good for kids, but, well, I can't go and buy them for myself, can I...?

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that the o.p.'s opinion seems to be based on a sample of one...
I guess we passed that phase a few pages ago and got to the "discussing o.p's mental state stage", as per usual.

I used to work in a large guitar shop, and I got to play around with every high end brand bass there is.

There were only ever two basses that stood out and made me wish I had the money to buy them.

One was a Sandberg VM5, the other was a Rickenbacker 4001.

I ran all these basses through the same amps, same cables etc so Rick must have done something right. Other brands I had used were Fender, Sadowsky, Lakland, G&L, Ibanez, Gibson, et al.

To be fair, my wife posted a video of baby goats somewhere earlier, so there wasn't much internet left
