Sorry, I am not saying this as a personal attack but I have seen recently a few comments on other threads along the same lines "lock the thread"... I say let people discuss whatever they please. If they are not interesting threads I'll move on, but let those who want to stay in them do so. Quote

A few years ago, if some attention-seeking nutter newb had popped up here causing a fuss and rowing with people in a desperate attempt to punt a 20 year-old bee-in-the-bonnet grudge we'd have given him a slap and sent him on his way. Nowadays we gather round and dab these peoples' temples with eau de cologne and sing Kumbayah and reassure them that 'It's OK, everybody's entitled to their opinion' because BC is where everybody's view matters. Face facts: a 'Septic' poser who's not been here long enough to wipe his arse has managed to get us to take him remotely seriously for 7 whole pages. There were only ever two basses that stood out and made me wish I had the money to buy them. One was a Sandberg VM5, the other was a Rickenbacker 4001. I ran all these basses through the same amps, same cables etc so Rick must have done something right. Other brands I had used were Fender, Sadowsky, Lakland, G&L, Ibanez, Gibson, et al.
