That's a very long screw in the G string bridge saddle. I wouldn't fancy one in any case, so I'm guessing really! Can someone who knows about these things put us put of our misery?

I'm certainly no expert but I do own a 69 Jazz, taking the photos at face value the bass looks reasonable enough, the only thing that would make me slightly anxious would be the height of the saddles to the bridge?

It has lots of newish non original parts, and the neckplate serial number indent appears a bit 'thin'. The lack of proper date stamps on neck and body don't help.

Yes there would, and in the pickguard for the pup cover - at least mine does.
