fusdepilee Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Anyone have one of these? Looking to purchase a fretless bass and I like the look of it (good price also) HB seems to be decent for the price? Quote
fusdepilee Posted March 21, 2015 Author Posted March 21, 2015
Do you mean the JB-40FL?
Yeah that's the one sorry - Jacotastic. Quote
Annoying Twit Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 No replies here. The reviews on Thomann's own site are good, and the star rating is very high. Higher than many others on there, I believe. Recent criticism of HB instruments seems to have concentrated on fretwork - not a problem here. Personally I don't think I'd buy the above instrument unless I found a cheap one (e.g. a deko). Reason being that I once test-played a Squier VM fretless jazz, and thought it was really really nice. So, I'd probably go for one of those instead. But even second hand the Squier would be much more than a new HB JB-40FL. Quote
RandomBass Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 An alternative might be the Vintage VJ Jaco fretless. I had one for a while and it was very good. It's reliced,by the way. Cheers Geoff Quote
fusdepilee Posted March 24, 2015 Author Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) Yes doesn't look overly promising based on the feedback here - I might have a sniff around for a second hand Squier then. Edited March 24, 2015 by jeweytheroux Quote
