Maude
I've been having lustful feelings towards Longhorns, mainly the 'Dead on 58'. I have no real need for one but that doesn't seem to matter. I nearly bought a used one on ebay a year or so ago just because I loved the look of it. The urge went away but I've just noticed that Thomann are doing them for less than £300. Hmm, gold sparkle or copperburst? No, must resist! Mmmmm, copperburst
Twincam
Me too nearly bought one i seen in Andertons used. I resisted however. But now going over to thomann to have a rethink.

kristinaelias
I bought the one Andertons had! It was only £200 & it even had flats already on it. (Just wish I could work out what brand they are.) Appreciate temptation with the gold sparkle (it could have matched one of my Strats!), but somehow the copper burst is just more authentic/vintage/Entwistle/easily available on s/h market & cheaper. Hell, get the gold one & give us all some bass porn to drool over! In case this helps . . . Edited March 22, 2015 by kristinaelias
Paul S
New member of the Danelectro Appreciation Society here. I recently bought a Longhorn and I absolutely love it. Love the way it looks, love the way it sounds, love the fact it weighs as much as a hedge sparrow's wing. The Dano sound can cut it in rock, funk, blues, anything 'old school'. Yet dial in more tone and increase the the back pickup in the blend and it has some real bite. Mine is black. On the strength of that I even more recently bought a DC9 in gold sparkle and it looks ridiculously camp - love it. I think a gold lamé strap would be interesting.... sounds similar but different. [/quote] I've got a limo black reissue from a few years ago with the ordinary vol/tone knobs and slightly more adjustable bridge. I adore it - it's considerably more versatile than they get credit for. The best sound I had was tuned to drop C through an Ashdown rig - massive chunky tone with a great treble bite on top. My only issue is that it doesn't stay in tune very long. I thought about swapping the tuners but didn't want to detract from what makes it what it is. Maude
There's a cream and mint one on ebay at the mo, collection only and it's miles away thankfully On of my bands is considering going for a full glam set, we include a fair few now but if we go the whole hog then a gold sparkle one would be perfect. I refinished my Variax to my taste so I wouldn't need any more basses. But they're sooo perdy!
