Spikeh
So, I've bit the bullet and decided to "downgrade" my bass cab. The thing's just not practical for me and I'm currently searching for alternatives at the same quality and power. Here is the manual: http://www.ampeg.com/pdf/SVT810HPC.pdf The specs:
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: TYPE 8x10 Bass Enclosure FREQ RESPONSE (+/-3dB) 50Hz – 18kHz (±3dB) USABLE LOW FREQ (-10dB) 40Hz (-10dB) RMS POWER HANDLING 1500 watts PEAK POWER HANDLING 3000 watts CROSSOVER FREQUENCY 6kHz IMPEDANCE 4 ohms SENSITIVITY 100dB SPL 1w/1m MAXIMUM SPL 131dB COMPONENTS 6 Custom Designed 200 watt cast frame 10” full range speakers 2 Custom Designed 200 watt cast frame 10” coaxial speakers with 1” HF drivers DIMENSIONS (H x W x D) 48” x 26” x 16” WEIGHT 205 lbs.
Stock photo: And a review from Harmony Central. http://namm.harmony-central.com/SNAMM03/Co...SVT-810HPC.html This is the highest quality and loudest Ampeg bass cabs on the market. It handles anying up to 1500W / 3000W peak at 4ohms, has nuetrik connectors as well as TR connectors, a horn control on the back which controls two High Frequency drivers (one out of each set of 4 10" speakers). As far as I can tell, Ampeg don't sell these anymore and I can't find them anywhere first or second hand. If anyone decides to do research and finds them anywhere, please let me know. This cab has been gigged... 4 of the speakers have been replaced, and there are a few scuff / scratch marks on the tolex (one rather large one), but it still works as new and it's got a bloody lovely tone. I was considering keeping it for my recording studio, but most people bring in their own amps anyway. Been told this particular cab has been used by the following artists, but of course, I can't be sure
Robin Guy - drummer for Bruce Dickinson solo project from Iron maiden, also played drums for Faith no More on TOTP 1998. Now plays for Rachel Stamp Jarvis Cocker - the guy from Pulp who everyone knows Stan armstrong - from The Dickies, massive punk band The Bass player from The Smiths - cant remember his name. Paul McGuigan - Ex Oasis bass player now does session work with abbey road studios. My Chemical Romance Tour and was also used buy Hunter from AFI as his f***ed up in Berlin a few others but you will get bored,
I'm looking for £1,200 ovno. I can provide pictures of it if you want, and will deliver anywhere between Blackpool & Manchester for free (as long as the offer is reasonable). If interested, or you want to give it a go, give me a call on 07740 354453. Edited August 18, 2008 by Spikeh
Spikeh
* bump * Would also consider a trade for two 4x10s, or a 4x10 and a 1x15/18 that can deal with my head's output (SVT-4 Pro). Also iterested in Schroeder cabs and Mesa cabs... Also, lowered price to £1000 for this cab.
fretmeister
Lovely sounding things... but my back couldn't cope with a cab weighing 205lb!! That is almost as much as I weigh!

Spikeh
* bump * Not really in a rush to sell this, but would definitely consider any decent trade offers... looking to replace it with two cabs with lots of clarity and power.
MythSte
Just to let everyone know Chris is a great chappy and you should deal in confidence!
Spikeh
Thanks for that Ste I'm not really willing to negotiate prices on this as I've no need to sell it really, but I'm more than willing to negotiate for some decent replacement cabs, even if they're not worth the same. I'm currently looking in to the Eden cabs and seeing if I can match my head's outputs / impedance to different configurations. I run an SVT-4 PRO. Spikeh
Still looking around for the right deal for this... very interested in swaps for Mark Bass and Schroeder cabs of the same power... 2 x 4x10s preferred... Gonna miss this when it goes, but I just need to down size a little bit.
