Stag Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Quick and easy question : how much should a pro setup cost, in your experience? Cheers guys Quote
Stewart Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Probably at least £50, probably not more than £70 (if it involves fret levelling & reprofiling). If it doesn't, DIY Quote
Dubs Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008
just a set up, no work done, £30 ish i guess
That’s my experience, but then you can also find small shops that are willing to do an equally good job for half the price. Stag Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Ive been quoted £35 inc some new Rotosound short scales for my Les Paul Bass (see Gear Porn... mmm). So thats a pretty good quote, really then? Quote

Stewart Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 What do you people actually get for your £30/35 quid ? I'd suggest if it's just bridge height /intonation tweaks and fitting a new set of strings then you'd be *much* better-off doing it yourself - and not only financially... Quote

The only problem I have now after tell other people they get me to do it. Now days I show people how to do it as I was sick of it ( I charged zero) Best thing you can do is learn to do it Quote
