AndyTravis
Through a thread on here, I discovered 'scratch-It' who manufacture custom pickguards, usually with a graphic. I emailed them and within 20 minutes had a reply with the info I needed - sent the original on Monday afternoon so it could be copied, on Tuesday afternoon I had an email with a PDF of the pickguard! Tim asked if I was happy, and asked if I needed any hole positions changed. I was shocked at the speed of his work so far. Anyhow, come Friday and I get another email - it's on its way to me! And by 12.30 today it was in my hands. That's 4 days for a bespoke piece; I just cannot get my head around it! The fit and finish were better than the original White one I've removed. Lastly...the price, I've enquired with 4/5 other companies and had quotes ranging from £50 to an eye watering £85. This has just cost me less than £30 including postage. So, while he may be able to do this kind of turnaround now, I wonder how long it will be before he's snowed under 😄. This has to be one of the best customer experiences I've ever had, I'm over the moon and I thought I'd share it. AndyTravis
I've got 2, it's a Farida Jazz bass, they never made this model apart from my 2. It's got Seymour Duncan classic stack pickups, 2 piece ash body, flamed maple top and neck. The fretless one has the same spec but has an ebony fingerboard. I worked for their UK distributor at the time and did some demoing for them at trade shows...then I took over the Twitter for a year. This was the result of a drunken sketch given to their head of R&D who ended up designing the Modern Player guitars and basses for Fender (Farida build them and the classic vibes).
