Guinness21
A lot of people are talking about this amp head on talkbass, so I googled it and was blown away by the price! This amp head has 2000w peak output (they don't provide a total output figure) which is far more than I'd ever need, but I suppose I can always just turn down The only thing holding me back was the cab side of things. There are two cabs that have been designed to be used with this head - a 1x15 and a 2x10 - but they're both a tiny size. Bugera do make a 4x10 but it's a 2800w cab. I said this on talkbass and a guy responded "Having a big cabinet doesn't improve dispersion, if anything it makes it worse". I just feel slightly uneasy with such a small cabinet - either you place it on the floor and play to people's feet, or place it on a table which looks silly and you lose the bottom end. So what do you guys think? Would you place it on the floor or have it raised?
barkin
Does it have to be their cab/s? Me - I'd just get whatever cab/s I liked.
Guinness21
The problem is nobody's tested one to find out what the total output. The berg hd212 is a dram cab but I don't know if the veyron would fry it

Behringer/Bugera routinely quote very optimistic (ahem!) figures for their amps. The Product Information Document says nothing about the measurement conditions or how they came up with '2000W', but it is likely to be a peak figure. If they have used one of the commonly available Class D modules, it could be rated at about 500W to 800W depending on how they have 'managed' the power. Guinness21
Well if that's the case that changes a lot yeah. I asked on talkbass had anyone measure the total output, but someone said no because they couldn't agree how to...
barkin
The "matching" cabs, despite the 1600W (or is it 1000W ?) headline numbers, appear to be rated 250W continuous. Draw your own conclusions...
