BassBod
Bit of bass nostalgia, but still sounds great. This is a rack-mount GP11 preamp, MkIV from the early-mid 80's. Has the XLR input and metal switches rather than later push buttons. This one came from John Henry's and has the old Bass Centre sticker on the back. Good condition with some chips/scratches to the case work - I think the master volume pot has been changed as it doesn't have clicks, and the two big knobs are modern replacements. The case is 2U but the spacing of the mounting holes means it fits into three standard spaces, unless the screws are moveable. Not sure why, as I think it was built as a rack unit rather than taken out of a combo etc. Comes in a 3U basic rack case (Flightcase Warehouse) - used but serviceable. Collection form Bristol/Bath area please, and I will add some more detailed photos if anyone is interested - always happy to answer questions. BassBod
Another bump for a bit of bass history...that you can still use. This really hasn't got "a sound" unless you engage the slapswitch...then its 1985 all over again.
pmjos
I think people will look back on the days when you could pick up a bit of old school Trace for peanuts and wish they had bought some. Have a bump
BassBod
Yes, I'd agree. It sounds great - a classic well thought out bit of pro equipment (and it doesn't weigh as much as a small car). Not too sorry it hasn't sold.
