Nicko Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 .... well, do you?? Generally I don't and people find it strange. Quote
discreet Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Not really. We don't do foot-tapping music. A bit of head-nodding, perhaps. Quote
CamdenRob Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I throw the odd foot tap into my extensive catalogue of subtle on stage dance moves... Quote
seashell Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I think I do. Only it's more of a heel tapping really. I also do a lot of hair tossing (didn't realise that until I saw a recent vid of me playing live!) Stand by for some 'tossing' jokes from discreet...... Quote
FuNkShUi Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Im more of head nodder too. The other band members call it "hen pecking" Quote
Cameronj279 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I'm more of a head nod/"hen pecker". I tend to tap my foot only when it's really coming upto sections where I'm playing solo or without drums so there's only maybe 3/4 parts in the current set where I foot tap. I have noticed that I seem to walk a step back and then forward again quite regularly...no clue why though. Quote

ahpook Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 (edited) It used to be that if I tried to tap my foot I'd go out of time...but if I don't it kind of happens, but not all the time. Edited April 2, 2015 by ahpook Quote
uncle psychosis Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I pretty much always tap my feet. It really helps me keep time. Flute is my first instrument and so head nodding was never really an option! Quote

Dad3353 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 My right foot generally taps out the backbeat, while the left is synchro with the kick. Nothing too untoward, though, as I'm the drummer. Quote

Never mind the shadows, just makes you look bigger and more interesting on stage. Quote
CamdenRob Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 (edited) The guitarist in a recently deceased project was a perennial foot tapper but always out of time... I only noticed it when I was looking at his feet during a section without drums at a poorly monitored gig as a guide to staying in time... useless. Edited April 2, 2015 by CamdenRob Quote

mep Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Tapping, nodding, moving! Whatever next? I just stand there looking mean and moody like a bass player should. Quote

Shambo Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I've noticed my foot tapping involuntarily recently. I wonder where the noise is coming from, look down, and it's my right foot spasming with the music. A bit like when a dogs leg moves when you scratch it's sweet spot on their back. I want a foot pedal cabasa. Quote
JamesBass Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Not much of a foot tapper, but I do get my head and shoulders going, my guitarist thinks I'm trying to give him a cue half the time and is trying to train me to stop the head bobs, especially the heavy ones on pushes etc. Quote
Myke Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I tap my foot all the time. What ever type of music and even along to music that's in my head. Quote
