Bass_Guardian Posted April 6, 2015 Author Posted April 6, 2015
Well, WD only do 8 hole as far as I can see, and searching 5 hole on ebay only shows up ambiguous Mex/USA fitting ones. No worries though, these are the guys to email. They'll sort you out for sure. Chiliwailer Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 She's a beauty, what a lovely grain. Good luck with the replacement pickguard.
Chiliwailer Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 (edited) P.s. Callaham compensated brass saddles are great if your current ones are causing intonation issues. http://www.callahamguitars.com/partstel.htm Edited April 7, 2015 by Chiliwailer

Didn't realise how difficult it is to find the right pickguard with the same amount of holes that's 3 ply!

Its not even like its because they come on 50's style Teles and people only want single ply, I've seen some awful modern ones for 5 hole. Bizarre. Sure scratch it can sort it, otherwise there is Andy Gibson in the basement of 25 Denmark St, he's an absolute top bloke and has made me many a pickguard in the past.

Bass_Guardian Posted April 7, 2015 Author Posted April 7, 2015
Mmm, Telecaster; drool!
Everybody loves a telecaster
Bass_Guardian Posted May 2, 2017 Author Posted May 2, 2017 I've decided I like the pickguard thats on it. Adds a bit of character. It is nearly 30 years old to be fair so won't be flawless. One 'gripe' I may have is the bridge pickup seem a bit too sharp. Is there any replacement pups that would be better than the stock pickups? I'm not even sure what pickups would be in it. Any suggestions?

It still retains that Tele character, but adds P90 grunt into the bargain; fabulous pickup. A friend of mine has a Bareknuckle pickup in his, which is pretty sweet too.
