slab66 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 (edited) Just finished my Frankenslab. I must say I'm blown away with it. I had a 51 alder body which I sprayed last year then lost interest in it. Had a neck made by good ole Bernie Hefner in the US in one piece, but with 7.25" fret radius and vintage slim C back profile. The pickup I also had for some time which I had overwound to about 9.3k. Add some Gotoh vintage tuners and a bone nut and we got a bass. Put a vintage NOS dime cap on her and she sings like a bird. I hope you approve. I had a wicked time putting this abomination together. Its one of the best sounding basses I have ever played. It just goes to show you don't have to pay out big bucks for a great sound. Edited April 2, 2015 by slab66 Quote
