cana.dan Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 HI all, Maybe I've been out of the loop for a while but I was perusing Thomann the other day and came across a Stingray Classic in a trans blue finish. Is this a brand new option or has it always been there? http://imgur.com/rtYKyMj Looks sort of like my old favourite and sadly discontinued Trans Teal finish, and I've been wanting a classic Stingray as I never really gelled with my HH, so on the phone I got to GAK and I now have one on order. Waiting sucks! Quote

Nice colour. Quote
EliasMooseblaster Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I've never been drawn to 'rays, particularly, but I have to say that colour really suits it - I look forward to your NBD thread in 16 weeks' time! Quote
dub_junkie Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 http://www.music-man.com/instruments/basses/classic-stingray-4.html I quite like the trans blue and in that pic it does look like teal in its bluer moments. (Loved how teal went from green to blue depending on lighting) but I can't understand there being Pacific Blue burst in the classic colours. Looks more of a G&L colour and is still in the current colour options on the regular Stingrays and Sterlings. Would much prefer to see the original trans blueburst which is lighter than the current Morse blueburst. If they ever did a Sabre Classic in the original blueburst with the birdseye neck I doubt I could do anything but succumb to GAS. Quote
rodney72a Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Gratuitous Blueburst pic, old version... Quote
cana.dan Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 I usually don't like rosewood boards but that really suits on the above bass. Quote
