[size=4][font=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]Mint condition USA 2002 Fender Jazz Bass 1975 reissue, special serial number 000** on the three bolt neck plate. This was a prototype instrument in the USA R&D dept. to try out the unusual and rare Dakota red finish on a 1975 style bass with a matching headstock (non-standard 1975 features). It is a genuine one-off bass, and plays / sounds as good as any '70s Jazz Bass, and is built / finished as well as any custom shop Jazz bass I've tried. A copy of a letter from Michael Doyle at Fender comes with the bass which confirms provenance, and the period correct 1975 features. Being a factory prototype it was most likely hand-built by the best of the builders at Fender. It has some of the look of the late-1960s Jazz Basses, with the slick feel and sound (and bullet truss rod) of the 1970's. Much lighter, thankfully, than most mid-70's basses, and the neck profile is super slim. Appears to be an alder body, maple neck and choice rosewood fingerboard with large pearl blocks and binding. The neck is very slick with a lovely fret job and low action. The tone is fantastic. The case is in excellent condition too, and has a bag with lead, cloth, etc. in the pocket. The chromed metal pickup and bridge covers are the originals from the Fender factory.
