[/quote] It is an exclusivity thing i suppose. It also depends on the celeb. I doubt the fact that it was owned by a person i have never heard of, let alone the band would make me pay a premium. However, a Fender used by James Jamerson would probably be different

In this particular case I think it gives you a Fender Custom Shop bass without having to sit on the waiting list.
I would only buy a used celebrity bass if it was on a track I loved or from a player I loved... this meets neither quotient
