Seer73 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Any advice to this: Like many, one of my 3 axes (still a student hence so few) is a 2012 MIM Fender, black body, rose neck. After scraping the neck finish off to oil it, the skunk has started to pop out so it's playable but just a slight annoyance and had been looking into eventually replacing the neck with a maple top from Warmoth which is around the £300 mark. I've also fitted a badass 2 & Hipshot plus done the stack pot job for both S/P & a kill switch. However, am an active fan plus prefer maple sound fretboard & seeing that Sire are looking at releasing the V7 as a lefty in summer do you reckon should sell off the fender to buy one? Or keep it? Or have both? Quote
uk_lefty Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 I think you could get aaround £250-£300 for your Fender on eBay so its worth a go if you want the active Sire Quote
dave_bass5 Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Why not ask those in the huge Sire thread what they think ;-) Quote
Wilco Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 I've had Fenders (of all types). Now got two V7's. Not missing my Fenders at all.....! Quote
JohnR Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 Everything about them looks good and at a reasonable price. However, I just could not live with the headstock with or without the name of one of my favourite bass players on it. Quote
