warwickhunt
Sad the number of shonky Fenders that get plied on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-precision-bass-/201327376006?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2ee00bf686
funky8884
I'm no expert but the decal and truss rod adjustment position look out if place.
AndyTravis
Looks like a Mexican Standard Precision to me, the 2008/9 onward version? Double checked, that's just a mexi standard fender. Edited April 10, 2015 by AndyTravis
That's what the current Mexican standard logo looks like, the machine heads are right and the serial number is on the back of the headstock as expected. If you were going to fake a fender, you wouldn't do that model (no offence to mexi standard owners) The listing may be dodgy but the bass in the pics is legitimate. http://www.themusiczoo.com/product/10675/Fender-Standard-Precision-Bass-Candy-Apple-Red/ Edited April 11, 2015 by AndyTravis
warwickhunt
In that case I should never be let loose to buy a Fender! That logo looked as fake as a fake thing and I'd have walked away from any 'Fender' that had a logo like that... you live and learn.

I'll look up a few more MIM logo in future.
It was their attempt at de cluttering the headstock in about 2008/9, the mexi standard range used to have all the information on the front of the headstock with the big silver logo. I quite liked these basses, the glossed fingerboard and nicer finishing really tidied them up - the £500+ price though was a bit much. So if this stays at £200 or so, it's a bit of a bobby dazzler.
