starman
Has anyone seen wood grain like this on a Warwick bass? The bottom edge looks almost maple coloured compared to the rest..
Lw.
Now that is a bass with character! Looks like you've dipped it on bleach, still lovely though.
warwickhunt
Bubinga as they all are BUT the bottom edge is part of the heart-wood of the tree. The 2002 Ltd Ed Corvette was cut with that pale wood through the centre. Grangur
If you go to Warwick.de then go to Warwick support, you can check out the serial number of your bass and it will tell you all the information about the woods, finish and equipment. Nice basses here btw. Thanks for posting
Cameronj279
As has been said, just looks like the bubinga to me. Very pretty bass and the fretboards a real nice looking cut too!
White Cloud
Looks to me like Ovangkol ...that's where my money is going.

throwoff
I think it looks like Ovangkol, it is a bit too anemic for Bubinga to be honest. The neck is 100% Wenge, with laminates that match the body wood. It should, I believe, be Bubinga on a Warwick of this age, but they were a little mad in those days, some stuff exists that shouldn't in terms of the catalogue specs. Could well be an artist or someone just asked for an Ovangkol body.
