Steve_K Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 My new Status Graphite bass (November 06). Specs: S2 Classic Through Neck Headless 5 String, EADGC Board 302 Walnut/Utile back, "MooWood" front (Spalted Siberian Ash, we believe) Black Hardware Quote
guitarnbass Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 That's nice. Can you get around on it okay without the lines? Quote
Paul Cooke Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 the tuners look a bit exposed... a guardrail could help there... Quote
Rich Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Love that spalted wood -- gorgeous. What a superb bass. Can I have it please? Quote
franzbassist Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 (edited) That is lovely indeed. I also have a soft spot for spalted wood. The facings on my Wal were taken from a piece I picked up in Vermont on a ski-ing holiday a few years back. Edited May 17, 2007 by walbassist Quote
Steve_K Posted May 17, 2007 Author Posted May 17, 2007 Guitarnbass - Yeah, I prefer it without lines Rich - Careful now Quote
MikeP Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Walbassist, maybe start your own Porn topic? Steve K, that status is beautiful. Quote
Tinman Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 That is really beautiful *thinks, must remember spalted ash* Quote
peted Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 It's basses like this that make me GAS for a Status. I've been GAS-free for months. Quote
King of Loss Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Can I ask how much it was? I am thinking of getting a 5 or 6 string fretless soon, and I live in Holywood (you know, just outside Belfast, over the hills from Ards etc) and I dunno if Status basses are in my price range (1200-1300 TOPS). Cheers. Beautiful bass, by the way. Quote
Steve_K Posted May 22, 2007 Author Posted May 22, 2007 >> King of Loss It was £2049, It's currently £1849 for the specs plus a full flight case plus a little extra for the work that had to be done on the facing - It's not the easiest of woods to work! Quote
