Custom models have the triple maple laminated set neck, this also with birdseye maple board. The body is made up of three sections of maple at the rear with a Russian walnut top. Bass is 24 fret 34 inch scale with zero fret. I still believe this is the best looking single cut out there, and sexier than the current model. I changed out the stock Marleaux preamp and fitted a John East unit offering all the original features of bass, treble, volume, pan and pull passive option, but now with additional mid sweep. The original preamp will be included with the bass. The bass is currently strung with GHS Nickle round wounds, and plays very well. Low and fast. There is one a rice grain size dink to the top of the upper contour, and some button marks to the bottom of the lower bout, from playing with jacket.
