bassbloke Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 I want to make up a wedge for my 2 x 12 cab to angle it for better sound monitoring onstage. I have a few questions? What would be the optimum angle? Where can I can the material? Alernatively, is there anywhere I can get one made up? Thanks Quote
john_the_bass Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 seen these? http://www.basscentre.com/cat/product_info...0b1a8eb4c55eef7 Quote
bassbloke Posted July 6, 2007 Author Posted July 6, 2007 Cheers, I'd prefer some foam so I'd get a better coupling effect with the stage and not lose bottom end. Also, my cab is quite tall, having 2 vertically stacked 12s, and that's quite a sharp angle. Regards Quote

Coming from a HiFi background, I would have thought that if there was any play between the cab and the floor, then when the speaker cone went forward, the cab would rock backward fractionally and vice versa, and that would give you a woolly sounding bottom end. It may be that this only applies at very low frequencies, but it might be worth considering. Quote
mhuk Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Wouldn't an insulating material decouple (isolate) the cab? Quote
