How much effort does your band put into its performance - who told you to stop :)

check this clip out - good ole James set the bar pretty high. you wouldn't have wanted him as your support act that's for sure

Not sure I'd want him as my band leader either from what I've read ;)

Another 4:24 gone from my life. It felt longer, though. :(

Noooooo. . . . . I saw JB at the East Ham Odeon at about that time. Must have been that tour because I don't think Bootsy was with them for long.

JB came on at about 2 am, second show of the day, and tore the place apart. Drivig back to West London at about 5 am and we were buzzing.

That was a high point of my musical life.

...and more power to you, sir. 'Twould be a funny old world indeed where we all liked the same stuff.
Kingston, eh..? We were almost neighbours back then (Bedfont, then Shepperton...)... B)

Thanks, I was thinking of the session guys who thought that a career in music meant they would be wearing dicky bows to conform for the rest of their days, then Mr Brown came along and changed the rules

Only saw him once (supporting RHCP's) so obviously he was in the autumn of his career but you could still see glimpses of what he once was. IIRC he actually had 2 bass players in the backing band that time. I suspect one was probably someone who'd been with him ages (judging by the age of him) and maybe was being 'carried' a bit and the other guy was acting as backup.

I watched "get on up" last night, the man had a tough start to life & I'm sure that made him into the person he was.
I asked a car park attendant at the chili's show in Manchester (2004 I think) who the support acts were & he replied "james brown if the police let him out", apparently he'd gotten hands one with a lady friend.
