MB1
MB1. When you actually want to buy an item and somebody with a grand feedback of 9 continues to counter bid.... Spider senses start to tingle? That's the wonder of EBay!
gjones
Bid the max you're prepared to pay and if you're outbid by your dodgy opponent, so be it. The item you're bidding on will be relisted again if your mystery bidder is not 100% kosher.

Annoying Twit
The answer is to snipe. No time for anyone to explore and reveal your max bid.

Happy Jack
And maybe it's someone new to eBay who also actually wants to buy the item. Having Feedback of 9 is not yet a criminal offence. I believe the UKIP manifesto intends to make it so. Having Feedback of many hundreds (like wot I do) doesn't mean that I "outrank" a Niner. That would be conkers.
