ras52
Go for it! Jaco called frets "speed bumps", and I find it just more.... organic? when the fingertip is stopping the string rather than holding it down behind a fret.
No lust in Jazz
I've owned a couple of fretless basses - Its all music they're just different. I tend to run a mile from bohemian types playing a battered Jazz fretless
Der JD
I'm having fretless GAS too...and also for a Thumb, but I'd prefer the NT version. I've had a couple of fretless basses in the past but they just didn't quite have the tone I was looking for. One was a German Corvette passive. The other was a Carvin. I actually wish I still had the Vette. I think if I'd just put in a good onboard active preamp I would have been a lot happier with it. I've owned lined and unlined. Lined is probably easier but I was surprised how quickly I adapted to the unlined. I think a lot of it is just how good your ear and muscle memory is. Count Bassy
[quote name='Bikenbass' timestamp='1429642921' post='2753611'] No sorry. If they only made a lined 5 string! Oh god, gas is sooo bad in many ways. If you find yourself over in East Anglia, you are welcome to try my bass. Hoping to get to the Herts Bass Bash in June. Oh cr@p, they do!!!!
