NBD - BC Rich NJ Series Eagle w/DiMarzios - CashConvertors!

Just scored an off-white, thru-neck, 80's 'NJ Series' BC Rich Eagle with a double set of DiMarzio P pickups in it for £89 from Cash Convertors!
Needs a clean & set up - but the powerful P bass sound is shining through already! ;)

Never thought I'd find a decent bass bargain in there but it seems it was worth my while for once!

That's a score! It's great when you find a shop that has no idea what they're selling, reminds me of my £70 Ibanez Musician MC150! B)

Not 100% sure, but I think MIJ BC Rich were Kasuga builds, will be top quality.

Pics ASAP, please.

Jon.

I'm not a big fan of BC Rich basses particularly
But this is a bargain :)
Glad you like it

Like many of the other replies, I never seem to find those sort of bargains in my local Cash Converters
I've heard several people who have got bargains there
But I tend to just see cr@p whenever I pop in
... and it's usually overpriced cr@p at that

Nice one :)

EDIT: And yes, pics please

Will do, chaps..... just give me a few days as I'm mad busy at the moment and I've given it to my tech to set up/clean up etc :)

Sadly my tech has told me the neck is twisted beyond what's worth spending on it so will be returning it for a refund :(

Was it one of BC Rich's famed "100 piece" necks by any chance? I had an NJ Mockingbird with one of these that had a neck like a banana.

Yellow with a squishy centre?

Probably :(

That's such a shame! I found a BC Rich Ironbird in a CC a few years ago with a Robin Hood neck. I took a chance as it was cheap and as luck would have it the shop ad tuned the bass ridiculously high - when tuned correctly the neck settled down nicely.

Yellowing with a gluey, plywoody centre to be precise - this is what it looked like:

As I understand it they were only in production for a year or so - I wonder why...
